Disney Cruise Line cares about your safety and wants your experience at work to be a safe and enjoyable one.
According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), there has been an increase in the number of crew members who have absconded in U.S. ports, across the cruise line industry. When a crew member fails to join a ship or departs a ship with no intention of returning, and stays in a country illegally, this is known as absconding. Disney Cruise Line works closely with CBP to reduce the number of absconders and reports missing or suspected absconding Crew Members immediately.
In addition, CBP has reported an increase in human trafficking among the people involved in these cases. This is a serious safety concern. In some cases, crew members may be promised a better job on shore with more pay or certain housing conditions, in return for the crew member entering the country illegally. Instead, they are put in a dangerous situation.
Crew are encouraged to visit the DHS Blue Campaign site for more information and resources.

Report suspicious activity immediately to your Recruiting point of contact, your future leader, Human Resources or Security. If you ever find yourself in a difficult or dangerous situation while in transit to start your contract and embark the ship, reach out to Disney Cruise Line so we can help you. If you are on shore and need help or are in danger, contact local law enforcement immediately.
