- Be vigilant in crowded places where tourists and large crowds gather. Airports, metro stations, open air terraces and lines to enter buildings can be attractive locations for pickpockets who are very skilled using distraction techniques.
- If you do need to carry a bag, please carry money, passports, and other important documents in a money belt or other secure carrying case.
- Do not keep large amounts of cash with you or show money in public.
- And remember, never leave your bag unattended and always maintain constant visibility of all bags, backpacks and carry-ons.

Exercising caution, public vigilance, and awareness of surroundings remains of the utmost importance to maintain personal safety.

Make sure you know what to do once you arrive. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the information below before you travel, so you will be prepared once you arrive. We strongly recommend you screenshot and/or print this page as Wi-Fi access could be limited while you are traveling.
Keep your important documents with you at all times. When packing, make sure your passport, visas, and required certificates are readily accessible. You may be asked to present your documents at the airport before boarding your flight and upon arrival at your destination at Immigration or Customs. Please be sure that you know where these documents are and keep them secure.

After Receiving Your Contract

☑ Be sure to thoroughly review the Know Before You Go section for key pre-arrival details and to continue to familiarize yourself with the Disney Look guidelines and our health and safety requirements prior to the start of your contract.

☑ Upload your signed onboarding documents including your contract to DOC. Click to Upload.

☑ Review your travel itinerary and check for travel advisories. Check with your airline and destination's embassy if health info, departure testing, or other documents specific to your nationality are required to board your flight as well as successfully arrive at your final destination without travel interruptions or delays.

☑ Depending on the ship itinerary, location and the season you are sailing, temperatures can vary between warm, tropical climates to colder climates. Make sure to check the local weather prior to traveling to start your contract. A sweater or jacket is recommended for cooler temperatures.

☑ Crew Members are required to disclose any change in medical condition or medication regiment after completing the Pre-Employment Medical Evaluation (PEME) form, no matter how minor. Additionally, Crew Members are required to disclose all medications they are taking, including those acquired over-the-counter. Some medications, such as headache tablets containing codeine, may be legal in your country (over-the-counter) but prohibited elsewhere and not permitted on DCL vessels.

To report a change in medical condition or over-the-counter medications, please contact DCL-Crew.Medical.Services@disney.com. Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in disciplinary action including termination.

Collect your luggage from baggage claim.

Lost Luggage? If necessary, complete a lost luggage claim with your airline before departing the airport. If possible when submitting your claim, please provide the Port Agent’s address:

This address can also be used for deliveries to the ship after you arrive while the ship is docked in Papenburg. Please ensure your name and department are included in the shipping details for any packages being delivered.

Keep all of your boarding passes until you receive your luggage.
When purchasing any items you may need before your luggage reaches you, ensure to keep each receipt for claiming back with the airline.
After you embark, please advise the Crew Office of any lost luggage, so you can be further assisted.

Bus Transportation Guidelines - Wismar / Hamburg

Please carefully review the information below regarding your scheduled transportation.

It is crucial for all Disney Cruise Line Crew Members to be familiar with the information below, which outlines important details and expectations, including when and where your transportation will arrive.

Please note that Crew Members who miss the designated bus will be responsible for arranging and covering the costs of their own transportation.

Failure to take action on the information provided can result in disciplinary action, not excluding termination of employment.

Please ask the front desk for a "Hotel Welcome Letter" if you don't receive one at check-in. This letter contains important information about your stay and includes a health screening form, which you'll need to fill out for embarkation day.

Your room has been designated as a smoke-free room. Smoking or vaping is not allowed during your stay.

Your room will not be serviced during your stay; however, if you need fresh linens or towels, you may request them.

Complimentary high-speed internet and Wi-Fi will be available.

DCL Crew Members are entitled to breakfast, lunch, and dinner each full day of their stay. Your meal allotment is based on anticipated time of check-in to the hotel. The exact allowance will be provided by the front desk. Please keep in mind alcohol is not included in your meal allowance. If you purchase alcohol or go over your allowance you need to pay for this at check-out. When paying for meals, please add a tip in accordance with local customs if a gratuity is not already included.

Restaurant Information:

Breakfast is offered weekdays from 6:00 am to 10:30 am and weekends from 6:00 am to 11:00 am. Additional information about breakfast on embarkation morning will be shared with the embarkation details below once finalized.
Circle Bar & Restaurant: Lunch is available daily from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, and dinner is available daily from 5:00 pm to 10:30 pm.

PST Training (Personal Survival Techniques): Wismar

All crew members, regardless of position, must possess a valid STCW Personal Survival Techniques (PST)certification.

If you do not already possess a valid PST certificate, your mandatory PST training will be scheduled at a later time.

Traditions: Wismar / Hamburg

Your in-person Orientation Training known as “Disney Traditions,” is scheduled 1 day prior to your embarkation, unless otherwise instructed.

You must be within Disney Look guidelines in order to attend the class.

Please dress accordingly with weather-appropriate clothing.
No shorts, tank tops, torn jeans, sandals, hats, or t-shirts with words.
For safety and comfort reasons, closed-toe shoes for walking, sunscreen, and water bottle are recommended.

Traditions is a REQUIRED training and will be held the day before you embark the ship.

Please have breakfast before class.

Please come with a photo ID or passport. Lunch will be provided at Traditions.

Please dress appropriately for class.

Class will start promptly at 9:00AM .

Embarkation: Wismar / Hamburg

Smoking, alcohol and drug consumption is generally prohibited on the entire Meyer Werft shipyard premises, including in vehicles. Individual sub-areas may be exempted from the general smoking ban; these areas are marked accordingly. It is prohibited to bring alcoholic beverages, drugs and other addictive substances to the site or to consume them there. It is prohibited to enter the yard in an intoxicated state.

This includes onboard the ship. While the vessel is docked at the shipyard, you may not bring or consume alcohol onboard.

Important Safety Information: Absconding & Human Trafficking

Disney Cruise Line cares about your safety and wants your experience at work to be a safe and enjoyable one.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), there has been an increase in the number of crew members who have absconded in U.S. ports, across the cruise line industry. When a crew member fails to join a ship or departs a ship with no intention of returning, and stays in a country illegally, this is known as absconding. Disney Cruise Line works closely with CBP to reduce the number of absconders and reports missing or suspected absconding Crew Members immediately.

In addition, CBP has reported an increase in human trafficking among the people involved in these cases. This is a serious safety concern. In some cases, crew members may be promised a better job on shore with more pay or certain housing conditions, in return for the crew member entering the country illegally. Instead, they are put in a dangerous situation.
