As first announced in 2016, the Disney Cruise Line fleet is growing with a total of three new Wish-class cruise ships, each showcasing the immersive family entertainment, enchanting storytelling, and unparalleled service that only Disney can deliver.
“We pride ourselves on the unforgettable vacation experiences we deliver to our guests each and every day, and the expansion of our Disney fleet will allow us to create even more magical memories for families at sea and in incredible cruise destinations around the world,” said Robert A. Iger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, The Walt Disney Company.
Disney Wish
The Disney Wish made its maiden voyage in the summer of 2022.
“The Disney Wish embodies the incredible magic that only Disney can deliver,” said Bob Chapek. “It celebrates nearly 100 years of Disney storytelling excellence, bringing fantastic worlds and beloved characters to life like never before through innovative technology and new approaches. Every element of the Disney Wish reflects our relentless focus on our guests, and everything they love about Disney.”
The newest Disney Cruise Line ship is infused with more storytelling than ever before and filled with one-of-a-kind entertainment and innovative “firsts” from bow to stern.
These include the first Disney attraction at sea, family dining adventures themed to “Frozen” and Marvel, an immersive tour of the Star Wars galaxy, interactive virtual quests that unlock hidden magic around every corner, original Broadway-style stage productions, signature fireworks at sea, imaginative clubs for kids of all ages, and an expanded collection of experiences exclusively for adults.
“We’re constantly innovating and creating big, bold experiences for our guests that connect them to our stories in amazing new ways,” said Josh D’Amaro, chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. “With the Disney Wish, we’re pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with awesome new entertainment and experiences and combining them with Disney Cruise Line fan-favorite offerings. This new ship is one more symbol of our incredibly bright future, and just the beginning of where we can go.”
Disney Treasure
The next Disney Cruise Line ship will be named Disney Treasure. The ship will be designed with a brand-new motif unlike anything Disney Cruise Line has done before: the theme of adventure.
Inspired by Walt Disney’s love of exploration, this new design concept will pave the way for epic experiences that immerse guests in some of the company’s most legendary stories.
“At the heart of every adventure, there’s a treasure, and we can’t wait for you to create memories aboard this spectacular ship,” Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro shared at the D23 Expo in 2022.
The Grand Hall will radiate the irresistible allure of adventure, inviting guests to seek all the treasures on board from the moment they embark. Inspired by the grandeur and mystery of a gilded palace, it draws on real-world influences from Asia and Africa and pays homage to the far-off land of Agrabah from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ classic tale, “Aladdin.”
The signature atrium character statue — a Disney Cruise Line tradition — will be a shining, shimmering, splendid representation of Aladdin, Jasmine and Magic Carpet soaring together toward a whole new world of adventure.
On March 30, 2023, we reached a significant milestone in the construction of the Disney Treasure with the keel laying ceremony at Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. In a time-honored maritime tradition, a newly minted coin was placed under the keel of the ship for good fortune. The coin portrayed Captain Minnie Mouse in her new adventure look, styled after the medallion on the bow of the ship.

Disney Destiny
Disney Cruise Line revealed the first details about its next ship, the Disney Destiny, as it reached a new construction milestone on March 20, 2024 with a keel laying ceremony at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.
The design theme of the Disney Destiny, sister to the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, will be “Heroes and Villains,” drawing on the legacy of beloved Disney stories, characters and theme park attractions, to forge a cruise vacation that will empower guests to embrace their own calling aboard every unforgettable voyage.
The Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney Imagineering teams were inspired by the dynamic duality of every great Disney story, where opposing forces of light and dark drive characters to rise to their purpose, when developing the Disney Destiny. Onboard, guests will encounter heroes and villains alike – including those from beloved Walt Disney Animation Studios stories like “The Lion King,” “Hercules” and “One Hundred and One Dalmatians” – within the spaces, experiences and entertainment throughout their voyage.
To embody and embolden the theme, Disney also unveiled brand-new filigree artwork for the bow of the Disney Destiny, continuing a beloved Disney Cruise Line design tradition. The illustration depicts Minnie Mouse striking a valiant pose in a heroic ensemble, her cape waving majestically in the sea breeze as she boldly leads guests toward their vacation destinies.
“The Disney Destiny will celebrate our most legendary Disney stories and characters, bringing them to life in new and exciting ways exclusively for Disney Cruise Line guests,” said Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager, Disney Cruise Line. “As we continue to expand our fleet, the Disney Destiny will further strengthen our position as a leader in family cruising as we offer even more ways for families to experience Disney magic and world-class service at sea.”
The Disney Destiny is scheduled for delivery in 2025.
